Tel l us about your educat ion and designat ion journey. I at tended the Uni vers i ty of Cent ral F lor ida where I earned a B. S .B.A. major ing in Economics . I then got a B. S .B.A. major ing in Real Estate. I am al so a State Cer t i f ied General Real Estate Apprai ser . My IAAO journey began dur ing my thi rd year wi th the Orange County PA. Around thi s t ime, Ter ry Taylor accepted the pos i t ion of Res ident ial Di rector . Ter ry int roduced me to the IAAO and al l the benef i ts of at taining IAAO des ignat ions . At thi s point , I made i t a goal to achieve the RES , AAS , and CAE . des ignat ions . What ’s one thing people would be surpr ised to know about you? What do you do for the PA? I am a Senior Commercial Analyst who cur rent ly values T imeshare, Hotel , and Gol f Course proper t ies . I al so defend these assessments at Valuat ion Adjustment Board hear ings How long have you been employed by the PA? I have worked at the Orange County Proper ty Apprai ser ’ s of f ice for approx imately 9.5 years . Before accept ing an analyst pos i t ion wi th OCPA, I was a fee Commercial Apprai ser . My prev ious work exper ience includes IRR ( Integra Real ty Resources) - Or lando, where I star ted as a Trainee Apprai ser . I then worked for Valbr idge Proper ty Adv i sors – commercial proper ty types , including commercial land. What do you l ike most about your job? I enjoy several aspects of my work at OCPA. What are your hobbies and interests outside your job? I enjoy being outdoors and enjoying the F lor ida sun. Lately , I ' ve got ten into snorkel ing, and one day , I ' l l work my way up to scuba di v ing. L i v ing in Cent ral F lor ida, I of ten v i s i t theme parks and tour i st at t ract ions dur ing the s low season. What is some career advice you can give? My suggest ion would be to always keep learning and be a l i felong student . Mak ing mi stakes i s okay , as long as you learn f rom them. I t ' s al so impor tant to get to know your col leagues , par t icular ly those who have been in the profess ion for a long t ime.
