Happy Fall! Happy Football Season!
Now that TRIM is over and our VAB appeal proceedings begin, we come to one of the busiest parts of our year. I wish everyone the best of luck in their upcoming hearings! The 88th IAAO Annual Conference just wrapped up a few weeks ago in Boston, Massachusetts. I, along with many of your board members and other Florida IAAO members, were able to attend and represent the Flor-

ida contingent. First and foremost, I would like to congratulate Mr. Patrick Alesandrini on his installation as the 2023 President of the IAAO. This is an amazing and well - deserved honor and those of us in Florida know how lucky the IAAO membership is to have him lead this organization. There were many informative sessions and takeaways from presen- tations by appraisal jurisdictions all around the country and world. The Keynote speaker again this year was amazing. Adrienne Hazlet, a victim of the Boston Marathon bombing, inspired us with her story of obstacles and triumphs. Her story of resilience in the face of adversity touched us all and left us with a feeling of hope and a perspective of never giving up. I also had the honor this year of accepting on the behalf of the Chap- ter the Virginia Cup! With sixteen new designees this past year, we came out on top for the 11th time! The Virginia Cup is one of the coveted awards at the conference, and as usual, our commitment to education and professional development was recognized. Although we did not win Chapter of the Year, our eyes are on the prize for next year! In addition, several of our Property Appraisers Offices were recognized for earning or re - certifying the Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration (CEAA). I would like to congratulate the following offices:
DIRECTOR Nikki Pontello, CFE Chief Administrative Officer St Johns County
St. John ’ s County Property Appraiser ’ s Office – Initial Certification of the CEAA Osceola County Property Appraiser ’ s Office – Second Recertification of the CEAA
IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT Kenny Pennington, CFE, CBC Chief Deputy Osceola County
