INSTRUCTOR TRAINING WORKSHOP

Your 2013-2014 FCIAAO President Nick Nikkinen, representing the Honorable Rick Singh Orange County Property Appraiser, attended the IAAO Instructor Training Workshop the three days prior to the IAAO 80th Annual Conference in Sacramento, California. Florida was well represented in the class of ten attendees, by the Honorable Jim Overton, Duval County Property Appraiser; the Honorable Scott Russell, Monroe County Property Appraiser; and Kevin Campanaro representing the Honorable Pam Dubov, Pinellas County Property Appraiser.

Several presentations were given over the three day course which were critiqued on numerous factors, including: speaking style and comfort, delivery and voice projection, subject knowledge, illustrations and adaptability. The judging panel consisted of three IAAO senior instructors; our own Pat Alesandrini, Assistant Chief Deputy Hillsborough County; Bob Reardon, Massachusetts; and Garth Thimgan, Colorado; together with Jean Speigel, IAAO's Education Manager. This workshop was a great learning experience that I would highly recommend for those of you interested in becoming an IAAO Instructor.
